¹ú²úÂÒÂ× and The National Care Forum have refreshed their successful digital leadership programme designed specifically for leaders and managers working in social care.

The four day programme, delivered virtually, has been developed to build confidence and ability to identify and embed digital technology in the delivery of care and support. It is suitable for all workplace leaders, including registered managers.

The Digital Leadership programme is a national development between ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× and The National Care Forum for both new and experienced managers of adult social care services.

The learning programme will support managers to have the underpinning skills, knowledge and models of digital leadership that can be practically applied when implementing technology in a care service and promote best practice.

It will improve confidence in identifying how digital technology supports the delivery of quality care and will enable managers to identify technology in the market, understand the barriers to technology adoption and how an organisation may choose to address them.

The programme includes an emphasis on reflection, helping individuals to learn from their day-to-day experiences and think about how they can do things differently or get better at recognising what they do well.

Programme content

  • The digital basics – Equipping the essential knowledge for understanding digital technologies in care, providing the foundation of knowledge for the modules that follow.
  • Leadership and transformational change – A good leader must possess strong change management skills. This module considers change management with a digital lens, developing an understanding of leadership styles and influence, methodologies for procuring technology, developing and aligning digital strategy and ‘baking in’ feedback into the process.
  • Co-production – Designing and developing with people in receipt of care, identifying their needs and expectations provides better defined, safe and ethical solutions.
  • Using data to create change – An effective digital leader can use data and feedback to lead decisions, defining what data technology needs to collect and analyse will provide opportunities to improve, influence and inform innovation.

Hear from other managers

This training has supported me to sort of facilitate our vision. We want all our staff to have access to the organisation through an individual email system where we can communicate to people straight away, where they have our policies and procedures at the tip of their fingertips.

There was really great interaction amongst all of us. You get to interact with different people in the whole group, not only the same person. We can really communicate with others, sharing ideas and find out how others are doing.

Programme delivery

The programme is delivered virtually. It’s interactive and includes a variety of group and individual activities.

Participants need to attend each workshop and be able to spend time developing an action plan and creating a presentation which will be delivered during the final workshop of the programme.

Due to the interactivity and inclusivity of the programme, participants are required to have access to a PC or laptop with a working camera, speakers and microphone.

Full attendance by the registered participant* at the four online workshops is a mandatory requirement of the programme. Participants will only be able to receive a certificate of completion if they have fully participated in all four workshops.
